The gloves are off in East Setauket.
Rumble Boxing Three Village, the popular fitness studio in East Setauket, is shutting its doors for good, according to an announcement the gym shared on Instagram this week.
The closure marks the end of a run that fostered a devoted community of early risers, fitness enthusiasts and newcomers who bonded over Rumble’s signature high-intensity boxing and strength-training classes.
The gym’s final round of classes are on Sunday.
“We are heartbroken to share that Rumble Three Village will be closing,” the post from Rumble read. The announcement did not provide details about the reasons behind the closure.
For many members, news of Rumble’s closure landed like a knockout blow.
“I’m honestly still in shock that I’m not gonna see you all at the crack of dawn next Tuesday,” wrote @kelseyelisabethfitness. “I’m forever grateful for the amazing staff and all the amazing members that made my time here so fun and awesome.”
Others described the studio as more than just a place to work out.
“This place wasn’t just a boxing studio, it was a family,” posted @bek.a.t.e. “We built our strength, hit goals we never thought possible, punched the [bags], and built some of the best friendships. Losing this studio is a huge loss to the community.”
For @nicoledelia, Rumble was both an outlet and a support system.
“Boxing helped me on days when I didn’t train and I wanted to keep my body moving, when I had a bad day and I wanted to punch…a bag, or on a good day, when I wanted to do something good for ME,” she wrote.
“As for the people…the trainers, the members, and my girlies behind the desk, everyone is truly one big family and never judgmental,” she added.
Brand launched in 2017
Rumble, which launched in New York City in 2017, has since grown into a national brand with boutique boxing and strength-training studios across the country. The East Setauket location, branded Rumble Three Village, had developed a loyal following within the local fitness scene since opening.
