Ryan Seacrest Foundation opening a TV and radio studio at Cohen Children’s Medical Center

Healing just got a whole lot better at Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park.

The young patients there will soon have the opportunity to host their own radio and television shows, watch live musical performances, play games and even interview celebrity guests who visit the hospital.

It’s all part of the Ryan Seacrest Foundation’s Seacrest Studio, a state-of-the-art production space, where pediatric patients will explore the creative realms of radio, television and new media. Opening in 2022, it will be encased in glass and located smack in the middle of the Northwell Health hospital’s atrium.

“I’m thrilled to announce our next location at New York’s Cohen Children’s Medical Center, which is near to my heart, in the city that I now call home,” the TV host and producer announced Wednesday on “LIVE with Kelly and Ryan.”

“We’ve been fortunate to continue to grow and do the work we love, putting smiles on the faces of children and their families across the country, and I can’t wait to cut the ribbon on this one in 2022,” Seacrest added.

Cohen Children’s Seacrest Studio will be the 12th in the country established by the Ryan Seacrest Foundation — and the first in New York.

The objective of the studio is to improve the healing process for children and their families during their hospital stays, as well as uplift the spirits of the medical center’s clinical and administrative staff.

“One of the primary goals for us at Cohen Children’s Medical Center is to continually improve and enhance the in-hospital experience, both for our patients and their families,” said Dr. Charles Schleien, senior vice president of pediatric services at Northwell Health. “The studio will be a great addition to our Child Life programs, all of which are designed to give our young patients the opportunity to play and relieve the stress of being in the hospital setting.”

The Ryan Seacrest Foundation has opened 11 other Seacrest Studios across the country — in Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Nashville, Orange County, Orlando, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
