Suffolk Police have shut down a brothel operating out of a home in the heart of Sayville, just blocks from downtown, after executing a search warrant that resulted in the arrests of two Brooklyn women, cops said.
Detectives with the Human Trafficking Investigation Unit served the warrant at 47 Henry St. about 10:24 a.m. on Wednesday after an investigation into reports of prostitution taking place at the residence, police said.
Xuehua Chao, 55, and 41-year-old Yamei Qiu, both of Brooklyn, are charged with prostitution. Chao, also known as “Mary,” and Qiu, aka “Flame,” advertised prostitution on commercial sex websites, police said.
The women were issued desk appearance tickets and will be arraigned at a later date.
During the search of the three-bedroom house, detectives recovered massage tables, cash and electronic devices, police said.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about activity at the house is asked to contact the Human Trafficking Investigation Unit at 631.854.7512 or Crime Stoppers at 1.800.220.TIPS.
