Sayville High School junior earns scholarship to summer program at Notre Dame

Sayville High School junior Skyler Collins was selected to attend the prestigious Summer Scholars Program at Notre Dame University.

Each year, a Sayville junior is picked to attend the program, thanks to the annual Susan and Harold Atkinson Scholarship, established by Sayville residents Jamie and Brenda Atkinson.

The scholarships honor Jamie Atkinson’s parents, who were actively involved in the Sayville Community and in law enforcement.

Skyle will focus on the life-sciences track during her time at Notre Dame, Sayville schools reports. The Summer Scholars Program offers an intensive two-week course at Notre Dame’s campus in South Bend, Indiana. Taught by Notre Dame faculty, the program delivers a challenging college-level experience and grants one college credit.

The Susan and Harold Atkinson Scholarship covers all expenses involved with highly competitive program.
