The Town of Islip will host its 17th Annual Civil War Weekend at Islip Grange Park in Sayville on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The free, family-friendly event is presented jointly between the town and Company K, 67th Regiment, New York Infantry1st Long Island Volunteers.
Visitors can explore authentic camps, see field hospital setups, and watch Union and Confederate re-enactors bring history to life through skirmishes and daily-life demonstrations, according to a Town of Islip announcement.
Islip Grange itself offers historic structures that reflect 19th-century America, while the Sayville Farmer’s Market will run nearby on Saturday.
