Move over, Sabrina Carpenter — Long Island’s own Camryn Quinlan is coming for a spot on the pop charts.
The Sayville teen, who just graduated high school in June, hit the airwaves on 106.1 BLI for the first time earlier this month with her new single, “ex box.”
The pop anthem — which she wrote in her bedroom at just 14 years old — is now in regular rotation on the station.
“I knew it was coming on, but I was still in shock when I heard it,” Quinlan told Greater Long Island. “I had always dreamed of that moment of me being on the radio.”
Since then, her phone hasn’t stopped buzzing. “Lots of texts, lots of calls, and lots of ‘holy crap, you did it!’ from family and friends,” she said.

GLI first introduced readers to Quinlan back in 2019, when she was a seventh grader performing as part of the a cappella group AcaPop! Kids. Since then, it’s been all hustle — recording songs, growing her fanbase online, and performing across Long Island and even Nashville.
“Every time I do a show, I wear a boatneck dress with go-go boots so people recognize me when I get off stage,” she said. “My look helps me gain fans — that’s part of the vision.”
That vision goes all the way back to karaoke nights in her living room. Even when her friends dreamed of becoming teachers or doctors, Quinlan’s answer was always the same: “I want to be a pop star.”
“I’ve always known music was going to be my career, even before AcaPop,” she said. “But it’s so hard to break through — you’re literally competing with millions of other people who have the same dream.”
Now with her first mainstream hit, Quinlan says she’s more motivated than ever.
“I don’t want this to be my peak,” she said. “I’m so motivated to come up with the next big idea, reach the next big high.”
And fans won’t have to wait long for more. Quinlan’s next single, “Jane,” drops Nov. 7 on all streaming platforms and social media.
