Support provided by Northwell’s Mather Hospital, which delivers the five-star difference in exceptional care and is ranked by Medicare in the top 5% of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance and patient experience.
History has been made by the Stony Brook University’s women’s lacrosse team.
For the first time ever, the team has been ranked No. 1 in the nation across all three major polls.
The Seawolves claimed the top spot after a 16-3 victory over No. 20 Denver at Kenneth LaValle Stadium this past Sunday. With the win, SBU is now 3-0 to start the 2018 season.
The next day following the victory, Stony Brook was announced as the NCAA’s best team by Inside Lacrosse, US Lacrosse Magazine, and the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association.
But, the high rankings haven’t phased Stony Brook’s head coach Joe Spallina.
“I have far more interest in being No. 1 in late May,” he told the Stony Brook Statesman. “I’m also okay with us being No. 1 tomorrow forward. That’s what I tell them all the time, that it’s all about us.”
