School district clerk posthumously named Bayport-Blue Point Employee of the Year

|

Bayport-Blue Point schools posthumously honored staffer Dana Teri last week as the district’s 2021-2022 Employee of the Year.

Teri was a payroll clerk and purchasing agent, working at the district for 30 years. She died of cancer Dec. 16. She was 63.

The district noted that Teri was an integral part of the day-to-day business activities for the district and was considered a point of contact for business-related issues. Teri lived in the community and while her children attended Bayport-Blue Point schools, she volunteered her time with the PTA.

“Ms. Teri lived and breathed Bayport-Blue Point and was always the fiercest advocate for our schools and community,” Bayport-Blue Point schools Superintendent Timothy Hearney said during Superintendent’s Conference Day on Aug. 29. “(She) volunteered her time often. Professionally and personally, she was the first person to help if you were in need.

“Ms. Teri exemplified professionalism and dedication to our district at all times,” he added.

A touching photo montage dedicated to Teri was posted by Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Homes on Teri’s obituary page. You can click here to view it.
