Ride-sharing services like Uber have just exploded in places like Bay Shore since Suffolk authorized ride sharing this past June.
So we reached out to Uber, curious about the most frequented Bay Shore destinations.
The folks in San Francisco got back with the Top 5 spots (to and fro) for people traveling within the 11706 zip code.
The list is below, in order:
- Fire Island Ferries
- Westfield South Shore
- Napper Tandy’s
- Changing Times American Sports Bar and Grille
- T.J. Finley’s
This list is based on trips that originated and ended in this specific zip code, according to Uber. So, basically, it’s where the locals go.
A bit of a surprise was Napper Tandy’s, which was the most popular nightlife location for pickups and drop-offs even though the two-story Napper’s only opened in October.
Uber also tells us that the longest trip from the area was to Atlantic City, N.J., at 168 miles (that kind of night).
And, they said, the average driver rating within the zip was 4.81.
“More and more, Long Islanders are choosing to leave their cars at home and take Uber to the train station, ferry terminal, stores, local bars and restaurants — which can free up parking for better use such as much-needed housing and open space,” said Uber spokesperson Danielle Filson.
