Funeral services for Centereach native Samantha “Sammi” Garnier, the pregnant mother was police said was stabbed to death eight days ago by her husband inside their upstate home, are scheduled for Thursday and Friday on Long Island.
Visitation for Garnier, 29, is being held on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 2 to 4 p.m and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Giove Funeral Home, 1000 Middle Country Road in Selden. A burial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m. at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3442 Route 112 in Coram.
On Wednesday, a Delaware County grand jury indicted Garnier’s 32-year-old husband Drew, who is originally from Lake Grove, on charges of second-degree murder, two counts of second-degree attempted murder, criminal use of a firearm, and four counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, all felonies, according to reports.
Garnier allegedly stabbed and killed his wife, who was five months pregnant, inside the couple’s Masonville home on Sept. 4, police said. The couple’s two young daughters, ages 6 and 9, were also stabbed but are expected to make full recoveries, state police have said.
