Family and friends will gather Tuesday and Wednesday to mourn the passing and celebrate the life of a father of four who was murdered in his Rocky Point home 10 days ago.

Visitation for Joseph Zoll, 61, is set for 5 -8 p.m. on Tuesday at Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A. A funeral Mass for Zoll will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony Of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 614 Route 25A in Rocky Point.

Zoll was stabbed and killed inside his home about 1:35 a.m. on Nov. 9. Detectives have been on a manhunt for Zoll’s youngest child, Matthew, 23, since the slaying. Police have posted that the son is wanted for murder and that they are seeking the public’s help in finding him.

Meanwhile, in wake of the tragedy, a family friend established a GoFundMe fundraising effort on behalf of Zoll’s family.

A U.S. Postal Service letter carrier for the last 10 years, Zoll is also survived by his wife Gloria, as well as three other children, Kristen, Jessica and Joseph.

In a touching note to his father that he posted on Facebook, Zoll’s older son Joe described his father as “the best dad I could ever ask for.”

“You loved and supported me every step of my journey, and I never doubted that for a second,” Joe Zoll wrote. “And while I did not expect you to leave this early in my life, I know you are with me … I will celebrate your life and carry on the light of your torch.”

“Joe was a dedicated father who did everything and anything to give his children the best life he could provide them with,” wrote Jane Mead Harris, who established the GoFundMe page. “Please consider helping Joe’s family during this tragic time in their lives. No amount is too small, and anything is truly appreciated.”

The fundraising effort has yielded $19,845 via 388 donations.
