Setauket woman charged in Selden man’s killing after Facebook warnings

|

A Setauket woman now charged with murdering Christopher Millwater of Selden had publicly accused him of troubling behavior months before the fatal stabbing near Stony Brook Harbor, according to posts made under her name on Facebook this summer.

Suffolk County Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of Kacy Corso, 33, of Lower Sheep Pasture Road, charging her with second-degree murder in the Nov. 10 killing of Millwater, 52.

Millwater was found stabbed in front of 21 Shore Road about 3:40 a.m. and was pronounced dead a short time later at Stony Brook University Hospital.

Corso, who is being held overnight Wednesday at the police department’s Fourth Precinct, is expected to be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Central Islip.

But long before the violence, signs of tension between the two appeared online. In a Facebook post from this summer, a user under the name Kacy Corso wrote:

“Whoever knows Christopher Millwater he is a grave robber… who tf steals a marker to a person’s final resting place because he cant accept NO for an answer or won’t accept I DONT WANT TO BE WITH HIM. As you can see… psycho much?? If anyone knows him better talk some sense into him before it’s too late 🙃”

The post, which is paired with screenshots of text exchanges with Millwater, is one of at least two in which the account criticized Millwater and suggested the two were at odds.

Suffolk County Police did not immediately respond to Greater Long Island’s request for comment on Corso’s Facebook posts.

Millwater himself posted a chilling line on Facebook just 48 hours before the stabbing, saying there’d be “plenty of time to rest when I’m dead.”

Corso’s arrest comes after Millwater’s family launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral expenses. His sister wrote that her brother was someone “who showed up for anyone in need.” The fundraiser has collected $22,000.

Funeral services for Millwater were held Sunday in Selden.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the case to contact the Homicide Squad at 631.852.6392 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 1.800.220.TIPS.
