Shake Shack officially opened its first drive-thru location on Long Island today, Thursday, Nov. 20 — and it’s right in the heart of Selden.
Located at 618 Middle Country Road, the new Shack began serving customers at 10:30 a.m. It marks the chain’s sixth Long Island location — but the first to feature a full drive-thru setup, complete with a digital menu board and two-lane ordering system.
The restaurant, part of the Westfield Center, will be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., offering both dine-in and drive-thru service.
Shake Shack held a soft opening on Wednesday. GLI swung by for a sneak peek tour:
A new era of Shacks on the Island
The Selden shop brings an experience Long Island fans have only seen in select markets nationwide. Guests can roll up for all the favorites — the ShackBurger®, Crinkle-Cut Fries, Chicken Shack, hand-spun shakes — plus limited-time items, including the new Big Shack.
The opening also pushes Shake Shack further east than ever before. Until today, its Suffolk County footprint included only Lake Grove and Melville. Additional locations are planned for Commack, Holbrook, Riverhead and Valley Stream, as previously reported by Greater Long Island.
Opening day giveaways + giving back
To celebrate the debut, store management handed out custom mini Shake Shack tote bags to the first wave of visitors this morning.
Shake Shack also announced that $1 from every sandwich sold today will be donated to the For Long Island Food Pantry, part of its Stand for Something Good® mission supporting local communities.
