Shands General is ringing in the holiday season with nearly two weeks of specials.
Starting Dec. 12 and running daily through Christmas, the Patchogue restaurant will offer a rotating lineup of deals — including discounted menu items, giveaways, and even brunch with Santa. The full calendar is below.
“From the start, we’ve wanted Shands General and The State Room to be where people gather, whether it’s brunch with a friend or celebrating something special,” said Shands co-owner, Julian Rizzo. “The holidays already do such a good job of bringing people together, so we thought: why not lean into it? 12 Days of Shands is our way of adding a little extra joy to the season!”
About Shands
Shands General opened last year inside the former BrickHouse Brewery, a historic building at 67 W. Main Street. Owners Bert Wiegand, Steve and Julian Rizzo, and James McPeak first transformed the upstairs into The State Room, a cozy cocktail bar that debuted in 2023. They later gutted the main floor and rebuilt it into Shands General, an upscale dining room named in honor of James G. Shand, who operated a general store in the building dating back to the late 1800s.
The team completely reimagined the old brewery, adding handcrafted details like antique brass railings, white marble floors, and tri-fold windows that open to Main Street in the warmer months. The downstairs features three distinct spaces: a front dining area with an Italian patio feel, a lofty bar section with handmade black walnut tables, and a quiet main dining room. All together, Shands seats about 140 to 145 guests.
