Silly Eats Food Truck, a partnership between Silly Lily Fishing Station & Marina in East Moriches and Stone Creek Inn in East Quogue, is rolling out for its second summer on Friday with some new items on the menu.

Elaine DiGiacomo, owner of Stone Creek Inn and the food truck’s vendor, said last year’s most popular items tacos and lobster rolls. This year, the menu will include a tuna tartare tostada and a French onion burger.

“I’m sure that will be a big a big hit,” DiGiacomo said of the tostada. “It’s something you can share and eat with your hands.”

She said the tostada is very popular at Stone Creek.

Like last year, the converted 1949 Long Island-built Grumman delivery truck will have a wood-burning pizza oven on Fridays.

“We’re hoping it’s not the food you find anywhere else,” DiGiacomo said. “We want it to be really well done.”

The truck is located at 99 Adelaide Ave. in East Moriches, on the Silly Lily property.

To start the season, the food truck’s hours will be Friday, 4 p.m.-sunset, and Saturday and Sunday from noon to sunset, until school lets out. Thursday hours will be added after that.

Jay Scott, owner of the food truck and Silly Lily, which was established in 1932, added that people can come to the location by boat, and that his operation has paddle boat rentals.

“This year we’re also starting a fishing camp for kids in July,” he said.

DiGiacomo said she thinks it’s great that people have the option to go to a fine dining establishment like Stone Creek and a more casual option like the food truck.

“There are not a lot of dining experiences on the waterfront.”
