Silver Alert: East Patchogue woman goes missing from her home

The Suffolk County Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating a 61-year-old East Patchogue woman who may suffer from the early stages of dementia.

Marie Merto, of 14D La Bonne Vie Drive, was last seen sleeping at her home at around 7 p.m. Friday, July 1, police said. Detectives believe she left the area in a1997 Buick LeSabre with a New York license plate GAM 9224.

Merto is described as white, 5-foot-6 and about 120 pounds, having blue eyes, short brown hair and dentures, police said.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts should call detectives at 631-854-8552, or 911. 


Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
