Smithtown West player is New York Jets High School Player of the Week

Smithtown High School West’s Jack Melore has been named the New York Jets High School Player of the Week.

Last Saturday, the junior wide receiver and outside linebacker helped lead Smithtown West to a 20-14 upset win over Half Hollow Hills East. Melore had 10 receptions for 226 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, he recorded six tackles, a sack and three batted passes.

As part of Melore being selected as Player of the Week, the New York Jets will donate $1,000 to the Smithtown West football program.

Melore also plays basketball for Smithtown West.
