Smoothie King opens second location on Long Island

|

Pumpkin spice season seems to creep in earlier and earlier every year, even at Melville’s new refreshing beverage spot.

Smoothie King, the international chain founded in Louisiana in 1973 and based in Texas, in May opened a smoothie shop in Melville — its second Long Island location. Carle Place is home to the other.

With fall nearly upon us, the brand announced the return of pumpkin-spice-infused favorites. The seasonal flavor comes in a variety of options across the Smoothie King menu, including Pumpkin D-Lite, Slim-N-Trim Pumpkin, Keto Champ Pumpkin, Pumpkin Espresso High Protein and Pumpkin Coffee High Protein.

Perhaps Smoothie King’s best-known smoothie is its Angel Food, a classic strawberry banana smoothie with some nonfat milk and turbinado raw sugar. Those who prefer their strawberries without a kick of added sugar can order up the Angel Food Slim.

At the Melville location, customers can enjoy Angel Food and other “enjoy a treat” sweet and refreshing natural fruit blends, such as the Passion Passport and the Strawberry-Kiwi Breeze in the lounge-style dining area.

The menu includes several other sections from the coffee-infused “Feel Energized” to the protein-rich “Get Fit.” There are also the “Manage Weight” options (under 350 calories), including the Metabolism Boost Mango Ginger and the Keto Champ Chocolate, as well as the vitamin-powered “Be Well” blends, including the nutty, banana and blueberry Daily Warrior and the Greek Yogurt Pineapple Mango.

The nearly 50-year-old franchise has more than 1,000 stores across the United States, according to its website. In its Melville shop, customers can view the “Secret menu,” which includes such enticing as the Cinnamon Toast Crunch, PB&J and Pina Colada.
