Sobol’s Miller Place açaí bowl shop opens Sept. 10 with free bowls, yearlong raffle prizes

The Route 25A store will give away free Classic bowls to its first 100 customers

Free açaí bowls, limited-edition swag and a shot at a free bowl every week for a year.

Sobol is pulling out all the stops for its grand opening on Thursday in Miller Place.

The Long Island-based açaí bowl franchise will officially open its doors at 691 Route 25A at 3 p.m., inside the Aliano Shopping Center. The shop sits next door to Jimmy John’s in a plaza that’s also set to welcome a Mister Softee location.

Sobol is also raffling off three grand prizes to customers who show up, with no purchase necessary to enter and one entry per person:

• First prize: a free açaí bowl every week for a year — 52 bowls total
• Second prize: a free açaí bowl every other week for a year — 26 bowls total
• Third prize: a free açaí bowl once a month for a year — 12 bowls total

Winners will be drawn at the end of the grand opening event, organizers said. Customers don’t need to be present to win — Sobol says it will reach out to winners directly.

Sobol now counts 20 locations across Long Island; the majority are in Suffolk County.

The chain got its start in 2013 under the name Long Island Super Bowls and has since grown to more than 100 locations across 11 states, with 40 on Long Island alone. Three more Suffolk and Nassau locations — in Selden, Roslyn Heights and Port Washington — are also in the works.
