South Shore University Hospital relocates its pre-surgical testing to new facility

|

South Shore University Hospital, the new name of Southside Hospital, is relocating its pre-surgical testing to a separate facility located at 2048 Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore.

The new 5,721 square-foot location will include six exam rooms and patients will receive all pre-surgical testing services, such as x-rays, blood work, electrocardiograms, and chest X-rays.

The decision to move the pre-surgical testing from the hospital to its own site is to enhance patient access and increase the efficiency of having all needs in one place.

“To allow patients to get pre-surgical testing done in a more convenient and comfortable environment, we moved this service a short distance away from the hospital to an easily accessible location that provides ample parking,” said Donna Moravick, NP, SSUH’s executive director.

The hospital is maintaining its COVID-19 protocols at the pre-surgical testing facility — patients who arrive at the location will have their temperature checked, they must wear a mask, and maintain social distancing while at the space.
