Southampton is getting ready to honor some of its own.
Six new inductees will be added to the Southampton Union Free School District’s Wall of Distinction during a ceremony set for 6 p.m. on April 17 at Southampton High School, according to an announcement.
The district will also recognize three fallen service members whose ties to the community run deep.
This year’s class spans generations of impact from public service and education to athletics, business and global achievement.
Among them is the late William “Bill” Frankenbach, a longtime local businessman, Air Force veteran and familiar voice of Mariners football on WLNG for more than 30 years (pictured above).
Tommy Goleski, who spent more than four decades caring for Southampton’s athletic fields, is also being honored for both his work and his presence as a constant supporter of student-athletes.
Suzanne Hurteau will be recognized for a trailblazing career in law enforcement, rising through the ranks to become Southampton Village’s first female police chief.

Regan Kiembock, a leader in school nutrition, is being honored for more than 25 years of service feeding and educating students while building connections with local farms.

The class also includes two standout athletes who took their talents far beyond Long Island.
Jace Panebianco built an international career in windsurfing, filmmaking and surf cinematography, while Kurt Rist became a big-wave surfer competing around the world and later founded a surf school and worked with children through nonprofit programs.

In addition to the inductees, the district will pay tribute to three fallen heroes: Lieutenant Warren S. Lutz, Sergeant Heinz Wobst and Rexford Raynor, all of whom lost their lives while serving in World War II.

The ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m. on April 17 at the high school.
