Southside Bar & Restaurant partners with ‘Save the Great South Bay’ for July 12 event

|

Help the effort to conserve the Great South Bay by dining and drinking at Southside Bar & Restaurant in Bay Shore.

That’s the idea behind the Bay Shore eatery’s new fundraiser with the nonprofit Save the Great South Bay set for Friday, July 12.
On that date, Lessing’s Hospitality Group, which owns Southside Bar & Restaurant, will be donating 10 percent of checks to the charity’s mission, when a patron mentions this article or ad below.
In addition, Southside will donate an extra $1 for every Shore Thing beer from Blue Point Brewing Co served that night.
At 7 p.m., those beers will be served by guest bartender Tom Kain, who is a part of the Creek Defender program from Save the Great South Bay. Creek Defenders organize cleanups of tributaries in the 20 communities that touch the Great South Bay — from Lindenhurst to Mastic.
“This is one of our many events we will do with them,” says Jennifer Cantin, Lessing’s director of marketing, on the partnership with Save the Great South Bay.
This isn’t the only way the Lessing’s Hospitality Group has helped heal Long Island’s waterways. Each year, the Long Island-based company hosts a cleaning at Gilgo Beach. Last year, their team collected over 400 pounds of garbage. Click below to see our coverage.
