One Long Island Clergy is hosting its annual free Juneteenth Day celebration today, Thursday, June 19, starting at 9 a.m. and running all day at the Tanner Park Bandshell in Copiague.
Community members are invited to enjoy live music, food vendors, educational exhibits and family activities.
According to Black Long Island on Instagram, the event “celebrates freedom, unity and culture.”
Highlights include a keynote address by Bishop Andy Lewter of Hollywood Baptist Church and performances by local artists. Visitors can expect a vibrant atmosphere of community spirit, historical reflection and creative expression.
The celebration concludes at 4 p.m., giving families time for afternoon events nearby, according to other online announcements.
Parking is available onsite. The event is rain or shine.
