Nikola Tesla may have been born 170 years ago, but his ideas continue to power imaginations today.
That spirit of innovation returns to Shoreham on Saturday, July 11, as the Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe hosts its annual Nikola Tesla Expo, an evening celebration packed with interactive science, technology and family-friendly entertainment.
The event, which drew thousands from across Long Island last summer, returns even bigger in 2026 with a historic milestone: the dedication of the Sayan Center, a major step forward in preserving and sharing the legacy of one of history’s greatest inventors.
Running from 5 to 9 p.m. at Tesla Science Center’s campus at 5 Randall Road, the Expo will feature hands-on STEM activities, live science demonstrations, robotics and amateur radio exhibits, maker showcases, live music, and interactive displays designed to engage visitors of all ages.
Families can also enjoy a dedicated Kids Stage featuring live performances, while food trucks and entertainment will keep the festival atmosphere going throughout the evening. The celebration culminates with what organizers say will be a spectacular drone light show illuminating the night sky in honor of Tesla’s 170th birthday.
Organizers encourage attendees to reserve their spots early, as the Expo is expected to draw another large crowd.
