Sprouts Farmers Market plans to open two additional grocery stores on Long Island over the next two years — one in Smithtown as soon as later this year, and another further down the road in Levittown in 2027.
The expansion news comes on the heels of the chain’s highly anticipated opening of its new Centereach store over the weekend. It is Sprouts’ first location in New York state.
Located at 1934 Middle Country Road, Sprouts opened Saturday to large crowds, featuring the company’s hallmark emphasis on fresh produce, natural and organic foods, bulk items and wellness products.
The Smithtown Sprouts will replace The Fresh Market, which closed in June, at 138 E. Main St. in the Branch Plaza, according to a Newsday report.
Seeding a Northeast presence

A Sprouts in the works for Levittown is slated to occupy a 25,593-square-foot space at 2981–2991 Hempstead Turnpike in the Levittown Shopping Center.
Sprouts operates hundreds of stores nationwide and has been expanding steadily into the Northeast.
