State police seek witnesses, dashcam footage after Southern State Parkway shooting

New York State Police are asking the public for help identifying witnesses and obtaining dash camera footage related to a shooting on the Southern State Parkway early Sunday morning.

The shooting occurred on the eastbound side of the Southern State Parkway near exits 28 and 28A — in the Wantagh and Seaford area — between about 3-3:30 a.m., police said.

Investigators are seeking anyone who witnessed the incident, was traveling through the area during that time, or may have dash camera footage that could help in the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call 212.814.9597. Cops did not immediately release additional details about the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or whether suspects have been identified.
