Steve Miller Band cancels Jones Beach concert, entire summer tour

|

If you had tickets to see The Steve Miller Band at Jones Beach this summer, you’ll need to get a refund.

The 81-year-old musician announced the band is canceling its entire summer tour — less than a month before it was set to kick off in Bethel, N.Y. — citing severe weather concerns.

“The combination of extreme heat, unpredictable flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes and massive forest-fires makes these risks for you our audience, the band and crew unacceptable,” Miller wrote on the group’s website. “So … You can blame it on the weather. The tour is cancelled.”

The tour included a scheduled stop at the Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater on Aug. 24.

The Steve Miller Band is best known for classic rock staples like “Fly Like an Eagle,” “The Joker,” and “Rock ‘n Me.”

No word yet on whether the tour will be rescheduled.

“Don’t know where, don’t know when … We hope to see you all again,” reads the post from the band.

Here’s a clip of their Long Island performance from 2023:
