The top student athletes from GreaterBabylon’s coverage area were recently honored during this year’s Butch Dellecave Awards in Holbrook.

The event, held June 10 at Villa Lombordi’s, recognizes students who are on top of their game — on and off the field, according to the organizers.
“Athletic Directors from all 66 Suffolk County school districts are asked to nominate one male and one female from their high school senior class,” the organizers explained.
This is the 18th year the awards — named after educator, official, and coach Gaetano “Butch” Dellecave — have been handed out
The awards are jointly run by the Economic Opportunity Council of Suffolk, the Butch Dellecave Foundation, and Newsday.
Below are the local winners, each standing with Dellecave Foundation co-directors Mark Dellecave and Guy Dellecave.
