Members of the Suffolk County Police Department put out a friendly reminder to lock your vehicle’s doors with a twist on a holiday classic.
In the video above, police officers sing their own version of “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” in hopes to make people more aware of roaming vehicle thefts.
According to the police, over the last 11 months, there has been a reported 2,066 larcenies from vehicles in Suffolk County.
“This is the time of year that people are busy holiday shopping and often leave valuables in their vehicles,” said the chief of department and caroler, Stuart Cameron. “We thought this parody would be a fun way to get a serious message across to residents — lock your vehicle and keep your valuables out of sight.”
