It’s been six weeks and 12,250 potholes filled in the Town of Islip for 2026.
So says town officials, who alerted the public today that Islip DPW crews “are out in full force” filling potholes throughout the town’s 1,300 miles of roadway.
Supervisor Angie Carpenter also stressed in a statement that county and state roadways are off-limits to town crews.
“We understand how frustrating potholes can be, especially during the winter months, and we remain committed to responding quickly and efficiently to issues on town-maintained roads,” Carpenter said.
Residents should call 631-224-5610 to report potholes on town roads.
“Our highway department will continue working diligently to keep town roads safe and in good condition for all who travel them,” said.
