Oreo bites, cake pops and macarons. Oh my … goodness!
Sweet Escape Bakery has picked up shop, leaving the confines of Holtsville’s Waverly Deli and moving to its own new storefront in Bayport.
Islip and county officials, along with members of the Bayport-Blue Point Chamber of Commerce, gathered last week at the bakery to break bread and cake, and offer congratulations.
The new location, 771 Montauk Highway, is open 7 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday; and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday.
Sweet Escape also serves up such favorites as carrot cake, banana bread, pumpkin bread, cheesecake and chocolate dipped treats.
At a Friday ribbon cutting ceremony honoring the bakery’s owners and staff, Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter was joined by Islip Councilwoman Mary Kate Mullen, Suffolk Legis. Anthony Picciarillo and the chamber of commerce members.
