T.J. Finley’s in downtown Bay Shore is hosting a New Year’s Eve after party industry night that’s going to run from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 1.
The year’s first sunrise happens at 7:17 a.m. that morning.
The idea is to help industry workers enjoy their own special night out, the owners say.
“The [State Liquor Authority] allows one all-night license each year, and we’ve used it this way for years,” said T.J. Finley’s co-owner Mike McElwee.
The state’s COVID-related dining restrictions forced the cancellation of last year’s after party.
And since you can’t utilize the all-night license on a Sunday, this will be the last such bash in Bay Shore until everyone’s ringing in 2024.
“The kitchen will be open until 4 a.m., then later we put out a little breakfast spread,” McElwee said. “It’s a great time as all industry people from all towns get together, decompress and talk about their nights, and years.”
The after-party will be preceded by T.J. Finley’s actual NYE bash that runs from Friday through the wee hours.
Now it’s no cover for the New Year’s Eve party, cash bar and a free champagne toast at midnight.
There’s also no cover for the after party.
