Texting and driving with 31 license suspensions gets Center Moriches man arrested, police

Texting, driving and a truckload of strikes.

Cops pulled over and arrested a 29-year-old Center Moriches man in Holbrook on Tuesday after he was seen texting by a highway patrol officer and not wearing a seatbelt while driving his Ford F-350 truck on the Long Island Expressway, Suffolk County Police said.

During the 11:08 a.m. traffic stop, police said, officers determined that Wayne Lowe had 31 driver’s license suspensions spanning 13 dates. The driver was stopped on the highway’s eastbound off-ramp at Exit 60.

Lowe is being held in jail overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday on one count of first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a Class E Felony, police said. He was also issued multiple summonses and had his vehicle impounded.
