The popular Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach is a go for this Memorial Day weekend, show organizers announced.
“We are pleased to announce that the 2021 Bethpage Air Show officially will take place this Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 29, and Sunday, May 30!” an online announcement reads.
Last year, the traditional air show was grounded due to the global pandemic, but there was a virtual component in 2020.
Both U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the U.S. Navy Blue Angels also zoomed over Long Island (and other parts of the U.S.) last spring for a tribute to frontline healthcare workers. Click here for photos.
This year’s air show will be headlined by the Thunderbirds.
The aerial show, sponsored by Bethpage Federal Credit Union, will have a reduced capacity this year to adhere to proper social distancing protocols.
Fans will need to purchase tickets in advance in order to secure a spot on the beach. Those passes will go on sale mid-April; you can click here for more details.
