The Blue Oyster in Islip unveils new outdoor scene for summertime

|

Blue Oyster Seafood and Oyster Bar found a way to bring a nautical feel to downtown Islip.

Last weekend, the seafood restaurant at 526 Main Street opened an all-new outdoor scene for summertime.

“It is a beachy feel without being on the beach,” said Blue Oyster’s owner, Lisa Saggio.

Saggio wanted the area to have a “lounge-y feel,” as well, which is why she added an outdoor bar surrounded by lounge chairs, fireplaces, and water fountains.

As the weather gets warmer, the carpeted area will be used for live music as well as a place to sit, sip and nosh on food and drink specials. In addition to the new outdoor area, there’s a newly designed and brightened back dining area that leads to the back.

“People will drive for good food,” she said. “So people will hang out if you have that fun hangout area.”
