The Boulton Center’s new season for 2018 kicks off in Bay Shore

|

[Correction: The Mortified show is Feb. 16 and not on Valentine’s Day night, as originally reported.]

The new season at the YMCA Boulton Center for the Performing Arts in Bay Shore gets under way this Friday, Feb. 2, with the return of guitar virtuoso Stanley Jordan.

And among the more famous names taking the stage this spring is Megan Mullally, best known for playing Karen Walker on Will & Grace. She will be featured with comedy duo Nancy and Beth on Thursday, April 26.

Returning to Bay Shore this year also is Howard Jones, and Ronnie Spector & The Ronnettes.

There’s also some Valentine’s fun planned for Feb. 16.

“I have a fun show called Mortified coming up, that will have a 45-minute Netflix Episode coming out soon,” said Michele Rizzo, the Boulton Center’s director. “Mortified is a live storytelling extravaganza — a show-and-tell, if you will — of people’s most embarrassing, awkward, and often seminal moments.”

The show will feature “stories of past V-Days gone wrong,” she continued. ‘The event is all ages at Wanderlust, but you can still expect beer, wine, and inappropriate tales all around.”
