The Brewers Collective is serving up the beer at ‘Island to Table’

|

The comrades at The Brewers Collective in Bay Shore are getting set to serve round after round of their craft concoctions during this Sunday’s Island to Table outdoor dining experience in Patchogue.

The Brewers Collective was joined by multiple brewers at last year’s fundraiser, but on Sunday, Aug. 26, they will be serving their beers exclusively.

“The Brewers Collective was so excited to be asked back to this year’s Island to Table,” said Sarah Dougherty, a co-founder of the brewery. “Last year we did the happy hour and one of the courses, and this year we were asked to do the happy hour and all of the courses.

“The commitment to all things local for this amazing night was very inspiring,” she continued.

Island to Table, which starts at 5 p.m. Sunday, is a 5-course fundraiser for a local sustainabiliy group, HomeGrown Change, that features top chefs challenged to prepare an entree and passed appetizer using local ingredients.

Each chef is being paired with a Long Island farmer to choose their ingredients. The courses will be paired with a choice of beer from The Brewers Collective, or a wine from Sagaponack’s Wolffer Estate.

There’s also a cocktail hour, all at Michael E. Reilly Memorial Park near the Great South Bay.

So what’s in store from The Collective?

“We wanted to offer a diverse range of the beer that we produce in Bay Shore, from Saison to Pale ale, Black Wheat ale to IPA we covered a lot of ground creatively and really took our time to make sure we had a spot on pairing for each course,” said Dougherty.

“It’s going to be a night to remember for sure.”
