The much- anticipated opening of The Hero Joint in Bay Shore, the company’s second location, is upon us.
Owner John Murray, III, has just announced The Hero Joint will be serving up their signature gourmet specialty sandwiches and doing catering from 182 West Main Street starting Friday, Oct. 1.
“I cannot thank the Greater Bay Shore area for welcoming us with such open arms,” Murray said Thursday night. “We are honored to join such a vibrant town where we already have so many friends.
“All we want to do is provide you all with the highest quality sandwich we can.”
Due to staffing shortages, an issue plaguing businesses across the U.S., hours will at first be limited but Murray promises the goal is to open for lunch and dinnertime — and as soon as possible.
As of now, the hours are this weekend from Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., then closed this Monday, then 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily until there’s enough staff on hand to open until 8 p.m. daily.
The Hero Joint is located in the former AJ’s Grilled Cheese spot across from St. Patrick’s R.C. Church.

The first Hero Joint location opened in September 2018 in Patchogue Village.
