Greater Mineola coverage is funded in part by The Farm Italy, a striking neighborhood restaurant and cocktail bar bringing the simplicity, beauty and seasonal freshness of Italian dining to Westbury.
The James is officially getting into the lunch business in Garden City.
The modern American brasserie at 910 Franklin Ave. is now serving lunch four days a week.
Lunch is available Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, the company announced. The James is offering its regular à la carte menu along with a new $39 two-course “Executive Lunch.”
The expansion comes about three months after The James opened in the former Primehouse space, bringing the popular Babylon restaurant concept west to Nassau County. When Greater Long Island toured the restaurant shortly after its July opening, owners Andrew Affa and Steve Squitiro said lunch service was already part of their plans.
The Garden City location sits along Franklin Avenue, just south of Mineola and its major employment centers, including NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island, Nassau County government offices, the county courthouse complex and Nassau County Police Department headquarters.
Affa and Squitiro took over Primehouse in late 2025 before transforming the space into The James, choosing to bring their modern American brasserie concept to Garden City rather than replicate Arlo Kitchen & Bar, their Northport restaurant.
The approximately 130-seat Garden City restaurant features the same menu and overall aesthetic as The James in Babylon, with fresh pastas, seafood, raw bar offerings and prime dry-aged steaks among the menu staples.
