The LakeHouse in Bay Shore announces first-ever wintertime closure

|

One of Long Island’s top-rated restaurants, The LakeHouse, will be closed for the winter for the first time during its 14-year run in Bay Shore.

The announcement was made via newsletters and social media.

“It is with a heavy heart that we must share that The LakeHouse will be going into hibernation beginning this Monday, Jan. 11,” reads an announcement. “While this was an incredibly difficult decision to make, we know it is the best way to weather this storm.”

The LakeHouse team cited COVID-19 as a primary factor in their decision.

“We plan to reopen as soon as it is safer for everyone, which we hope and expect to be in March,” the announcement also reads. “As you all know, we absolutely love what we do. The community surrounding The LakeHouse means the world to us, which is why we are going to sit tight, hold our families close, and come back as healthy and strong as ever”
