Support provided by Northwell’s Mather Hospital, which delivers the five-star difference in exceptional care and is ranked by Medicare in the top 5% of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance and patient experience.
An entire evening dedicated to trying different foods, deserts, and drinks.
That’s the purpose of the Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce’s “The Taste at Port Jefferson” event, which is scheduled for Saturday, October 21 at the Port Jefferson Village Center.
Now in its 10th annual year, the “Taste” event keeps growing, says the chamber’s director of operations, Barbara Ransome.
“We keep trying to add different features to the event,” she said.
Some highlights for this year’s installment includes performances by live bands, as well as an all-new VIP experience. General admission for tasting the 30-plus restaurants and vendors costs $65, but for 95$ you can upgrade to a VIP.
VIPs get an hour early admission from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. (standard ticket is from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.), while having access to an entire lounge on the third floor, which will have an additional tasting experience as well as chef demonstrations.
Another added feature to The Taste at Port Jefferson is the tenting of the Village Center’s ice skating rink on 101 East Broadway.
The tent gives room for additional vendors, said Ransome.
Flying Pig Cafe, Don Quijote, East Main & Main, A Cake In Time, Kilwins, and Port Jeff Brewing Company are among some of the places that are participating in this year’s festivities.
