The Winston, a rustic space for entrepreneurs and intimate gatherings, opens in Sayville

|

It’s not a restaurant. Nor is it a catering hall.

It’s The Winston.

Owners Satin and Lace Widrow, who are sisters, bill this Sayville storefront at 249 W. Main Street as a rustic space for mostly minority and woman-owned business owners who can use it for classes, photoshoots, networking and sales events.

The space can also be rented for intimate gatherings; all the host has to do (whether they’re Winston members or not) is bring food and drink — and their imagination.

“It’s really just a beautiful backdrop where you can create your own Pinterest-style, picture-perfect day and help grow your businesses and help others,” Satin said.

For those wondering, there is no kitchen at The Winston. For private affairs, a properly licensed caterer of the host’s choosing would bring in their own food to serve on chaffing dishes, or however they want to present.

Lace especially likes the idea that people who rent the space for a day will have flexibility when it comes to bringing in outside decor and vendors for artisan desserts, for example, or flowers, balloon arches and more. Many of the vendors would also be Winston club members.

For those curious about the name, Winston is the family’s beloved Old English bulldog, who’s pictured below.
