They’re turning Kilwins into a haunted house for Halloween weekend in Babylon

|

The Kilwins chocolates and ice cream shop in Babylon will be transformed into a haunted house this Friday and Saturday night in the run-up to Halloween.

Owner John Murray has spent the past few weeks sawing, painting and twisting chicken wire for an array of spooky decor that includes two 8-foot, lantern toting reapers.

The Haunted Kilwins will start at 7 p.m. and “we will go until time demands,” Murray said.

“We’ve been working extremely hard on it for over a month now,” he said. “We’re just hoping everyone really enjoys it.”

He’s even concocted spooky narratives for visitors to both the Babylon and Patchogue locations.

“The theme of the haunted house in Babylon will be the Evil Dentist of Deer Park Avenue,” complete with an actor playing the dentist, Murray said.

In Patchogue, the theme is Blood Point Brewing Company, a spooky homage to the Blue Point Brewery.

The shops will be fully open to the public during the haunted houses, though Murray doesn’t recommend children younger than 10 attend.

It’s also free to enter. See Murray’s complete (and quite hilarious) press conference below for additional details. GreaterPatchogue was there.
