A newly renovated house in Bayport has hit the market for under $500,000.
The 700-square-foot home, listed on Zillow Wednesday morning, features two bedrooms and one fully updated bathroom.
Located at 397 McConnell Ave., just off Montauk Highway, the property was last purchased in October for $300,000. In recent months, it has undergone extensive upgrades, including new windows, fresh siding, a new roof, gutters, and a fully renovated kitchen and bathroom. Additionally, the home features new vinyl flooring throughout.
The listing agent Giuseppe Pinello highlights the spacious 14,000-square-foot lot, describing its potential for “endless future possibilities like a pool, lavish garden, or jungle gym playground, just to name a few.”
The house was built in 1920.
The property is currently listed at $479,000, with a price per square foot of $684. By comparison, Redfin reports that the average price per square foot sold over the last year on Long Island is $444.
The annual taxes on the property are just over $9,800.
Long Island home prices have continuously surged since the pandemic, with the median sales price, excluding the East End, reaching a record high of $700,000 over this summer, according to Newsday.
This Bayport property stands out as a rarity, both in price and availability. According to Zillow, there are only nine other listings in the hamlet. The only cheaper option is a $375,000 plot of land on Sylvan Avenue, while the most expensive listing is a 5,000-square-foot home with panoramic views of the Great South Bay, priced at $2 million.
