In response to the rapid uptick in COVID-19 cases, Suffolk County is working toward providing more testing for Long Islanders.
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone announced there are three new drive-thru testing sites to address the recent Omicron surge.
These COVID-19 tests will be administered by Baseline and Reef Technologies.
The first of the three drive-thru sites opened on Dec. 29 in East Islip.
Here is the full list of sites and their hours of operation — all testing is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Heckscher State Park (1 Heckscher State Parkway in East Islip)
- Now open; runs Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Testing capacity: up to 1,000 tests a day
- Red Creek Park (102 Old Riverhead Round in Hampton Bays)
- Opens Jan. 3
- Offers school-required testing and community testing
- Operates Mondays only from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Testing capacity: up to 500 tests per day
- Cathedral Pines County Park (116 Yaphank Middle Island Road in Middle Island)
- Opens Jan. 4
- Operates Tuesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Testing capacity: up to 500 tests per day
