Three Stony Brook alumni sign future/reserve contracts with NFL teams

|

Three former Stony Brook Seawolves made a lasting impression on NFL franchises this past season.

Enough to earn them reserve/future contracts for the 2021 season.

These deals went to defensive backs Gavin Heslop (Seattle Seahawks), Chris Cooper (Denver Broncos), and tight end Connor Davis (New York Jets).

The contracts were signed following the end of each team’s season.

For the uninitiated, reserve/future contracts are agreements that allow teams to lock up practice squad players and free agents before the next NFL season starts. To learn more click here.

All three of these players spent time with each respective franchise’s practice team over this past season.

Offensive lineman and former Seawolf, Timon Parris, also spent time with both the Atlanta Falcons and Washington Football Team practice team this year. However, he hasn’t signed a future/reserve contract and will become a free agent.
