Town Board gives green light for IHOP in Patchogue’s Gateway Plaza

|

The Brookhaven Town Board on Thursday approved plans for an IHOP inside Gateway Plaza on Sunrise Highway in Patchogue.

Following a public hearing, the board signed off on IHOP’s application for a special permit for an existing space inside the shopping center, with a facade change and waivers of special permit criteria.

An IHOP spokesperson confirmed that the chain is looking to open a 6,800-square-foot pancake house by the end of this year. The space will include seating for 244 customers.

IHOP has restaurants in Medford, Ronkonkoma, Port Jefferson Station, Bay Shore, Hauppauge, Commack, Riverhead, Babylon and Lindenhurst among other Long Island locations. Across the country, the breakfast giant operates more than 1,000 restaurants.

Medford’s IHOP opened last year in the Sunshine Square shopping plaza, located at 700 E. Patchogue Yaphank Road. In March, an IHOP opened in Port Jefferson Station at 4837 Nesconset Highway.

This is a developing story. Please check back with Greater Long Island for details.
