The Turkish denim lifestyle brand Mavi is headed to Walt Whitman Shops in South Huntington, marking the company’s very first Long Island location.
The announcement was made on social media and through the Simon-owned mall’s website, where Mavi Jeans is listed as “coming soon.”
“Rooted in over 30 years of expertise, Mavi is the definition of denim,” the listing reads. “We’re passionate jeansmakers dedicated to crafting denim that fits perfectly, moves with you, and lasts for years to come.”
The store will open this fall, two units south of Sephora.
While you can find Mavi products at local retailers, including Nordstrom at Roosevelt Field and smaller outlets such as Rico’s Clothing in Center Moriches, this will be the first Mavi-dedicated store on Long Island.
Mavi was founded in Istanbul in 1991 and quickly became a global name in denim, expanding across Europe and North America in the early 2000s. The company opened its first U.S. flagship store in New York City in 2003 and now operates in more than 30 countries, with nearly 500 Mavi-branded shops worldwide, according to the Mavi website.
The brand—whose name means “blue” in Turkish—is known for its premium denim and stylish, comfort-focused fits.
