Two more Alive by the Bays approved for August in downtown Bay Shore

|

Mark your calendars, because downtown Bay Shore is set to host two more Alive by the Bay street festivals this summer.

The dates are Aug. 9 and Aug. 23, both Wednesdays.

The Islip Town Board recently approved permits for the events, the festivals’ organizers said.

“We’ve been working very closely with the 3rd Precinct and the Town of Islip so we can continue to run these successful, fun and safe events in downtown Bay Shore,” said Anthony Tartaglia, a co-owner at Verde Kitchen & Cocktails and one of the heads of the chamber’s restaurant committee.

The committee unveiled the first-ever Alive by the Bay on July 12.

“We felt that although our first event was a huge hit, there was still a lot to improve on,” Tartaglia added. “Obviously we overlooked a few small things here and there, but like anything else it’s a learning process.”

For instance, Tartaglia previously told GreaterBayShore the organizers plan to add more portable toilets to the upcoming festivals. And set aside more funds for morning cleanup.

“We’re looking forward to making each one better than the last!” Tartaglia said.
