It’s happening in Vegas!
The gold medal-winning U.S. women’s hockey team will celebrate their big win with Long Island’s own Flavor Flav this summer.
It’s part of the “She Got Game” event from July 16 to July 19, hosted by the rap icon from Roosevelt.
As GLI reported earlier this week, Flav invited the team to a Sin City celebration after they turned down President’s Trump invitation to be honored at Tuesday’s State of the Union address, alongside the men’s hockey team.
During a postgame phone call with the men after the gold medal game, Trump told the team he “had to” invite the women or risked being impeached.
Women’s team captain Hilary Knight later called Trump’s quip a “distasteful joke.”
“If the USA Women’s Hockey team wants a real celebration and invite, I’ll host them in Las Vegas,” Flav wrote on social media on Monday in response. “Do some nice dinners and shows and good times.”
Not many details about the July event have been released, but Flav said on Instagram it will be an “epic celebration” with a party, parade and concert.
And it’s not just the hockey team that will be honored.
